Blue Eyed Cats and Tiny Tigers
BECATT'S STORY

B.E.C.A.T.T. is a sanctuary for all animals but mostly cats. We are funded totally by public donations. I have realized that cats are very much like humans, they have a distinct personality! Four years ago we moved to the country, and people thinking cats can live in the wild dump them out here. I have saved many, but often wonder, how many have I missed?
There is a fine line between a tame cat and a wild cat. There are very few cats I have met, that I would want to be the size of a regular Tiger. Most are very loving, but behind those eyes lies a Tiger! I consider most of our cats tame to semi-tame.
I have built up a trust with the wild ones over a long period of time. It is not easy to build trust with a cat that humans have hurt, abused, and dumped. All of our tame cats have been spayed or neutered. I can not stress how important this is there are thousands of animals killed each year because of over population. One of our top priorities is to purchase a trap we will trap the wild ones, and have them spayed/neutered.
Cats are a vital part of life, the rodent population would be out of control without cats. We have had wiring, plastic containers and wood chewed, you can't even imagine!
There are many dangers for cats, we have coyotes, owls, hawks, just to name a few.
We have a unique set up for our cats. No cat is caged, they live in a home environment if possible. We have a 10 by 13 foot deck on the front of our home, we enclosed and extended it out abut 4 feet under the deck with chain link fence, and covered it with chicken wire, there is a cat door in one of the basement windows that allows them entrance to the "cat-atrium" there are things to climb on, around and under.
We also have a large back yard that is fenced with chicken wire that is about 6 feet high, chicken wire is woven on to the top and hangs into the yard, held out by fence stays. It works great, cats love outdoors, and we can keep them safe! They go in and out during the day, and are all inside by night fall.
This is the beginning of our story, check out the stories about each animal, we will continue to up date this site.
Please donate anything possible, we are supported totally by public donations. You can never donate too little or to much!
